Fairness and peace

God,
as we remember today the vast sums spent on armaments,
teach us to seek out a community of hearts
that we, together, may create more peaceful societies
and a fairer world;
offering our own lives and prayers
in the costly work of reconciliation;
your work,
God of peace

God's resting time

It was just one of those great moments. Sitting around with a bunch of 15 year olds in prayer. And one of them in his earnest offerings of prayer said to God "Well, God, hope you have a great weekend... Guess you don't get to rest much though...".

You have to love youth work.

What's up with the world

"One death is a tragedy. One million deaths is a statistic."

-Chuck Norris

If you've ever truly wanted to engage with what's wrong with us all today - the world, the 'community' or lack thereof, the disengagement...

check out the Monkeysphere.

If you're more into the way technology is contributing to it all (come on, we all know that young people can't even spell NEmore!) - you need to read Misery (7 reasons why the 21st century is making us miserable).

Both well worth a read and a chuckle and probably a long conversation over a glass of red...
